Solid rings are as important as the scope itself — they hold your zero shot after shot. Choose ring height so the scope’s objective clears the barrel with the lowest practical mounting.

Make sure the rings match both your scope tube diameter and your base type, and tighten screws evenly to the recommended torque.
Lap or check alignment where needed, and torque screws to the maker’s specification.
A scope that moves under recoil will never hold zero. Use quality components that match your rifle and scope, degrease screws and holes, apply thread locker where recommended and tighten in stages to the specified torque.
